Hong Kong to Expedite Immigration for Blockchain Job Seekers ↦

Michael J. Casey writing for coindesk.com:

Hong Kong is seeking to attract worldwide talents with specialties in innovative technologies including blockchain via a special immigration policy.
The Hong Kong government released a talent list on Tuesday that covers a range of 11 professions that are now eligible to receive bonus marks when experts in these areas apply for the city’s Quality Migrant Admission Scheme (QMAS).

The 19th century was marked by several immigration waves in a race that many thought would change their lives forever. It was the gold rush era.

We’re in the 21st century, gold is still a safe investment instrument, but the rush is not towards the precious metal anymore. Data became the new gold (or “the new oil” as some prefer to call it).

Whereas the gold rush caused people to move out to the gold mines, this time are countries that are calling in for new talent, with technology being both the appealing channel and the reward for all parties involved.
